Thank you
Be safe
I have made this many, many times for church. No leftovers. Sometimes I used almonds and sometimes walnuts. Excellent either way. For a change I used cherry pie filling and a chocolate cake mix instead of yellow.BARBIE-s said:!. Dump large can crushed pineapple (in it's own juice) into 8 &1/2 X 11 cake pan
2. Dump large can of cherry pie filling on top of the pineapple
3. Dump evenly over top of fruits a yellow box cake mix (two layer)
4. In thin slices, place butter pats over top of entire cake, one at a time (usually takes 2 sticks of butter-which should be room temperature, easier to slice thinly)
Bake at approx. 375 degrees for approx. 35-45 min. or until top of cake is light golden brown, can put chopped pecans, walnuts or almonds over top of cake, smathering, in the last 10 min. of baking.
Can be served by large spoon while warm, or can be served room temperature, can add scoop of vanilla ice cream to warm cake. Leftover-if any- should be refrigerated and warmed at time of serving.
It will make your house smell like CHRISTMAS..........because of the cherry pie filling
It really is good.Maureen Therese said:I get turned off as soon as I see 'packet cake mix'. Yuk.
