I have just created a hat that my mother made for me circa 1948. It was the all the rage then. I used bulky yarn, but it should be made in worsted, with flowers embroidered on the back. It is made in a T shape then folded to sew the side of the vertical to the bottom edge of the cross bar. It fits me perfectly. A 22" head.

Yes I was only 10 but I did see a lot of babies wearing one.

I remember the T style bonnet.
Great work on yours.
All baby's "back then" wore bonnets. We protected their delicate skin with a passion.
And all little girls had a white bonnet.
Those were the days !!!
