How wonderful and loving..... My niece almost lost her life in that tornado..... and did lose everything she owned... Just 2 months ago, she married her sweetheart, who rescued her from the second floor of her completely demolished apartment. Lots of good has come out of a bad situation and Cee Cee is definitely one of the good things..

Thank you for sharing this story. Joplin is my home town even though I no longer live there. Went home 5 months after it happened and it was heartbreaking. The place I lived in was completely gone and a couple of people died in the complex. I can only thank Cee Cee and her family for helping so many people feel better and for so many others who are helping bring this town back. If you google "Angels in Joplin" you will read some really miraclious stories of what many children saw. You can also google "Butterflies in Joplin" Many children saw butterflies/angels as the tornado was going through helping hold them down and protecting them.

CeeCee and her mom BeLinda are the most humble people - even though CeeCee has become a kind of "knitting rock-star" as a result of her kindness. Her story has really touched a lot of people...follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/elephantsremember
They were invited to a couple of Stitches events this year, and taught classes on elephant knitting and several yarn companies are joining the campaign. BeLinda doesn't just promote her own passion, she encourages others to work for their favorite charities, too (like Halos of Hope for cancer patients and other organizations). Knitters are some of my very favorite people!!
