I have been teaching myself how to do the Entrelac knitting this week. So far it looks like I am getting the hang of it. I was wondering though if it was possible to some how do it where both sides come out good. Does anyone know if that is possible????

As far as I know, you will always have a back side that is rougher than the right side. This is,in part, because of the way you have to pick up the stitches for the next square. You can weave in the ends as you go and that helps. Also, if you garter stitch the squares that may make the pick-up stitches less noticeable (I've only used stockinette so far) Also Eunny Jang has a backwards knitting technique which may simplify (pretty-up) the wrong-side. Again I haven't mastered this yet but will before I make another large project. Good luck--all items I've seen look wonderful!

Okay all this is what I do-----I know this won't be the answer for all of you, but I like it and it works for me.
I crochet the back side where the different rows are connected together that most don't like. I just use the same or contrasting color yarn and do a single stitch crochet. It makes sorta triangles around each block.... Make the back side as pretty as the front. Can't send a picture as I just mailed it off.

Both sides should come out even. I taught myself on a YouTube video. They have several but this one is the best in my opinion

Went back and looked and you are right, the wrong side shows the visible stitches but It is down on the bed. Don't worry about the wrong side. That is why they call it WRONG, You could line it. I just wash it and don't worry. Thank you for the comment.

I have knitted /crochet an Entrelac blanket, the back of it is not so pretty. I wasn't happy with it the same for the back of the scarf it wasn't nice. It was fairly easy for me to do. Yes,Staci Perry is great her tutorials are very good and easy to understand.

Congratulations on learning Entrelac. Sometimes it does not seem worth all the effort when working on a piece. Don't worry about the back. Once you weave in all the tails and block the piece it will look just fine. In fact, it will almost look as good at the front. Just be sure to weave the tails neatly and into the same color.

This is very cool! Always wanted to try entrelac but never liked the reverse side. This gives me the push I needed! Thanks for posting!
