I use bulky yarn and don't double it. It's easier for me than doubling lighter weight yarn although that's how I made my first pair just like the pattern said. I couldn't figure out why the designer didn't just use bulky. The slippers made withe bulky yarn turn out just fine! Yours look great too!????
I make these wonderful slippers. I keep a stack of each size on my made items shelf - unfelted. Whenever one of my children or grandchildren need a new pair, we felt them to fit their size. My son told me to keep making and storing them because he need to have them available for the rest of his life. They all love them!
