My first cushion cover (front) in tshirt yarn - unblocked it's approx 12" x 14". Made up the pattern as I went along and used 10mm needles casting on 36 stitches and casting off when I got to the end of the skein! Plan to make a back from cotton in a similar colour.

Any suggestions for simple patterns for the next 2? (I bought 3 skeins).

I'd like to stick with a cable related theme but the yarn is very thick so anything like a complex pattern would be difficult to achieve. The 4 stitch cable shown was just about doable.

What do you think?

I have never heard of T-shirt yarn, but then this is the other side of the pond. It does give me a great idea, though. I have made tote bags from 1" strips of old, really worn torn sheets. Cut up old t-shirts would be great for bath rugs or totes. I just did plain double or single crochet for the tote bags. Thanks for sharing, it's given me a great idea.

same idea as using old sheets but tshirt yarn is stretchy and it doesn't ravel and you can make one continuous strand. This also works with the plastic grocery bags. Great way to recycle!

Great design. How will you be attaching the cotton? Please share again when you have it finished. I am hoping to copy,
if that is okay?
Well, I'm no seamstress, so in all honesty, I'll probably get someone else to do it for me! Will post a pic of the finished article though, just don't hold your breath!

Check out how to make your own from old tshits :)

I spotted it in a hobbycraft store (actually, my grandson picked it up from the shelf as I pushed his buggy by while lusting after some gorgeous soft expensive yarn on the top shelf - I nearly missed it!) . It was £6 a skein on offer at 3 for 2, so £4 each, well, I had to have 3 didn't I? Of course I did!

Hi Las Vegas. Thanks so much for the information. I watched the U-tube video on t-shirt yarn and I'm tickled. Now I just have to find some t-shirts. Of course, I still have some sheets, but it will be on my "List"..I really appreciate your feedback. KP is so amazing. I'll be in Vegas for Thanksgiving. We're staying with relatives. The gambling part bores me (I've been there a few times), I don't drink and my big interest was the beautiful marble floor at Sam'sTown that I swore I would copy as a quilt. Thanks again>

My DD just informed me that I'm getting all the raggedy t-shirts
from her house. I am now on to a new disease. What could be better than recycling some stuff into new stuff that doesn't cost anything? My mom would be so proud.

Really, T shirt yarn? It looks beautiful! Is it as soft as a worn T shirt? I knew you could cut your own T shirts into yarn, but I had no idea you could buy it. Where have I been??? I love this color and think you should knit everything in it!!!
