We go to Nags Head, NC and I take my big bag of yarn, needles, quilting, crocheting and anything else I'm working on with me. My husband says we need a bigger car............but I don't go anywhere in the car without something to work on. Takes my mind off the traffic.

I love that sock yarn! what is it?? and what is the name if you know of the sock yarn color that is in the making now?? I have not seen any of that in my area yet!
The one on the needles now is Berroco Sox, metallic,as far as color all it says is1308. The yarn is made in Italy and I got it at a LYS in SC when visiting my son.

Frankly, if I were going on vacation to such a beautiful place, I wouldn't carry any knitting. But that's me.
During the day I am at the beach, no knitting. I knit in the morning before the beach and at night. Also need something in case it rains.

I don't think you have nearly enough, you're going to need at least 3more skeins of sock yarn. LOL

But seriously, looks good carry on. Oh and have fun and enjoy your vacation
Just added more yarn for a sweater. Boughten the yarn last year when on vacation. The thing is who know what I'll feel like knitting. Have to hide all this from my partner. Lol

It's a start. If it isn't enough, you'll just have to find the LYS and get more.
I'm sure it's a beautiful area & lots to see & do, but there's always down time. When we'd go on vacation, I'd be the first awake & crochet for the few hours till everyone else was awake.
I take my crocheting with me EVERYWHERE!!! We're backpacking this weekend & DH said to make sure I bring something along (lightweight ~ I have to carry it). I've got 2 skeins of cotton for dish cloths & one hook. No pattern needed ~ it's in my head.

Sunrise on the beach is beautiful, unless you've been up all night watching an autistic child (his sleep meds failed), who you also have to watch all day, and you're faced with a 12 1/2 hour (that's making good time!) drive home. I don't "vacation" anymore. My autistic son has safe areas he can be at home so I don't have to watch him all the time.
