Thanks so much! I cast on 16 stitches for the toe, then do alternating increase/plain knit until I reach the stitch count I want - in this case 36 on each Magic Loop needle, 72 total. I too was determined to learn socks and all I can say is: Youtube is your friend! Just try them first in dk weight yarn. Once you 'get it', you will be hooked!!
