Was wondering if any of you have used Mary Maxim Prism yarn? My daughter bought some and it has spots where it is really thin and places where it is thicker. Was wondering if the finished project turns out okay or is it very noticeable? She wants to make an enterlac baby afghan. Thanks for any input.

No - I haven't even heard of it, but I've used yarns that vary in thickness and I usually love the effect.

Just let me see if I can find some pictures.

Yea, here. Panda yarn:

I used it for a lovely scarf. The thick and thin adds to the texture of the fabric. It is a bit disturbing at first to knit with it, I had not expected it, but for a scarf it worked out just fine. I don't know that I would use it for some things, but that one worked out well. I have more of that yarn is different colors, don't know what to do with it yet.

I have crocheted many scarves with it and it works up lovely; gorgeous colors and texture add to the beauty of the article.
That said, the thick and thin may work better for crochet than for knitting.
