Trace a heart onto graph paper and work it from there.

a small piece of red felt , cut to shape and stitched on!

there are some hearts here might work if you don't want to knit it in or use felt as suggested.

Thank you for the link. I refined it to crochet and found exactly what I was looking for. It's a crochet heart wreath, and the hearts are perfect. I'll post when I get done with it. This forum always comes through! Thanks so much!
