My name is June and I live in Bloomsburg, Pa.
Years ago I knitted a baby blanket from a 'Jack Frost' pattern.
It turned out beautifully and now my Grandaighter who is 12 is growing into a beautiful young lady. I want to give her something she can keep, and knowing that she likes to snuggle down with a good book, I am hoping someone will have this pattern, which I could double for an afghan for her. I would so appreciate it if anyone could help. Thanks.
I might mention that the hearts were knitted right in the directions of the knittin and not with a diagram which I find difficult. Enjoy reading this every day.

Hi Lois,
I did find this pattern yesterday but the one I wanted from the Jack Frost {old} book was in a straight stitch. I have been considering this one though. Thank you so much for helping me so quickly. It is much appreciated.

(((((((((( Okie, you want to knit MANY hearts into this, right then NON graph form? I did a Jack Frost search on Ebay = 0. I've got a baby afghan pattern with many hearts in it, but you can enlarge it in several ways. What size are you thinking?

Oh, Mercy! I've got a 100% heart shaped dishcloth pattern; There are no other heart within the heart.......you don't do anything but knit, yo for an increase......make it a certain width then sart to shape the heart top (diagonal); Enlarge it.................

Send me a Private Message for the other pattern and we can test this enlarge theory with more information (neither one is in graph form) and over the cloth which I already have on needles - will use these for wedding favors at our daughter's picnic wedding this summer.

Answer soon as I have another appointment in 15 minutes.......

Hi, I have a heart pattern. I don't know if it is a Jack Frost one or not. I got a copy from someone while waiting for our car to get fixed years ago. The heart is shaped with yarn overs and decreases/increases making holes and each heart is framed with seed stitch rows. i'll have to look for a picture. I made a couple for some of my grandkids.

Hi June and welcome! I agree with Donna Rae, but without seeing her pattern I would chart it if you want one big heart in the center. Take a look at Teddy Bear blanket graph at straw.com/bear-baby-blanket. I would knit the background and purl the heart. I'm planning one for a large pillow for a friend, with one heart and I will do the heart in red Fun Fur on white background. Good luck..we know you can do it..sometimes "we just need a little help from our friends" and you can see we're here for you..Hildy

Look for big hearts baby blanket - www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babyafheart.htm

and another:
Look for : Hearth Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern at - www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babyafheart.htm

These are made all in one piece, harder for correcting mistakes if not found early. Another which is done in squares which would have to be sewn together is:

Look for : Baby Love Blanket Two at: www.greasy.com/nittineedles/baby_love_blanket_free_pattern_3.html and another at :

www.greasy.com/nittineedles/baby_love_blanket_free_pattern.html is Baby Love Blanket

hope these help you with your search......

I've been looking for a nice heart pattern in a baby blanket for my new "grandchild to be". Have you registered on the absolutely wonderful website "Raverly". As a new knitter person, I just found out about this site about a month ago. All that is required is to register is your email and a password. You will have access to thousands of patterns for all type of projects. Just type in "knit baby blankets" and you'll get 85 pages of wonderful patterns and about l/2 are free to you. Here are two that I found to be very nice and not too difficult to do: Name of blanket is Baby Love by Renae Jones, it's an overall heart pattern, and the other one is Heart Blankie by Sue Falcone.
Hope this helps with your search. Good Luck, Pat

Yes, I did make one for another Grandaughter many years ago. It was so pretty. Now my Grandaughter Natasha is 12 and I've been thinking about something to make for her that she can keep. This popped into my mind and thanks to the forum I finally did find the exact same pattern. I couldn't download it but had to send for it as it is in a book. I just received notice it's on the way and I'm hoping someone can perhaps help me to enlarge it. I haven't knit in quite awhile so I am looking forward to it. I ordered a pink/lilac color yarn. I think it is called pink plum.
Nice to hear from you.

No, I haven't made the afghan. I like to make small things, mostly hats and mittens. I've started afghans and I don't finish them. So I guess I don't like to make them. I love to look at patterns, and to save them on my computer. I like to try new stitches and color combinations. One of those heart squares will make a nice dishcloth. Some others will work well in hats.

Hi Marty, I can't blame you. Afghans would take forever to make. But, someday I will attempt one. I have a pattern I'd like to make. It's very avant-guard/modern. I'm not into the granny square type designs, even if I am a granny. If you want to see the pattern, let me know.

However, I have made baby blankets... I've done three. And, I have need for another. My niece will be having a baby boy sometime in August. So, I have to get cracking.

You use the afghan patterns for smaller items; good for you. I like the creative mind.
