This is how I see the pattern
Row 1 K4 P4 14 X
Row 2 K4 * { p3 k5} 12 x end p3 k1
Row 3 K4 * { p2 k6 } 12 x end p2 k2
Row 4 K4 * {p1 k7] 12 x end p1 k3
Row 5 p4 k4 14 x
Row 6 p3 k5 14x
Row 7 p2 k6 14 x
Tow 8 p1 k7 14 x
from my reading of this it does work for the 112 stitches, I hope this helps you.
