Hi, I am about to knit an English sirdar baby pattern for a sideways knit cardigan. For the right front border it says '' pick up and knit 7 sts evenly along rib, 39 sts from 32 cast on sts for right front. How do I pick up 39 sts from 32 sts. HELP. Thank you

How many rows have you knitted? It could well be that they want you to pick up stitches along the length you have knitted.

Knit to the end of the row, then pick up stitches by knitting each garterloop along the edge.

It means to increase the next row, by 7 sts evenly. This will give you 39 sts from the 32 you cast on. Make 1 st every 4 sts or so. I write the numbers 1 - 7 on a piece of paper and cross one out as I work them.Good luck.

Thank you so much Rosette, it makes sense to me now. I have got a few patterns I haven't attempted because I didn't understand it. I will be able to try those as well now.
