Being not too knowledgeable at knitting and the whys and wherefores, I made a hat, simple beanie in the round, from my alpaca yarn (with 20% merino). I asked for tips on blocking, which I got, and proceded to block it by washing gently in warm water with a mild soap used for alpaca fleeces. It did bring out the stitches and evened everything out nicely. BUT it is way too big. Now want can I do? I really don't want to felt it because the yarn is hand dyed and I think that felting will blur the separate colors. I just know that you experts will have an answer for me. Thanks in advance.
