I have just received an order of Jump rings,on amazon it says 1.2mm but they only measure about 8mm,what wpld you expect to get for 1.2mm.I thought it would have been, 12mm

I would expect that the measurement across the center of the jumpring from outside to outside would be 12mm. The inside diameter of the jumpring would be smaller.

I checked my chart that converts mm to knitting needles and I would think that your jump rings are very small. I also converted 1.2 mm to inches and got 0.047". Don't know if this is what you were looking for in your post.

1.2mm is 1.2 not 12

This might help better- 1.2mm refers to the diameter of the metal ring. I will try to find a picture

Ok see how the ring is 1.2mm in thickness


3.6mm inner measurement
5mm outer measurement 5-3.6= 2.4
which is 2 x 1.2mm for the thickness of the ring.

What size rings did you order was it 8 x 1.2mm?

I made a mistake.thought the rings I ordered were the ones I had had before,Just had a look on my orders amazon,and see it wasn't, it was a earlier order for 10mm rings,I have now ordered the right ones,Thanks for all the help

1.2mm is just over 1mm, not 12mm. that's a huge difference from 12mm.
