hope someone can help me.
I have a pattern for Aunt Maggies slippers, and now I am lost
I have cast on 35sts ( mans size)
knitted rows 1 and 2
and this is where I can't understand.
repeat these 2 rows for 5 ( 6.8 ins ), OR 2 1/2 ins less than desired length, allowing the 2 1/2 ins for toe.
hope you can understand do I only knit 6 ins and the 2 1/2 ins for the toes making 8 ins altogether, its for a size mans 8 shoe.
Thanks for any help.

Cast on 35 sts
ROW 1: - this will be the wrong side - K 11, p1, k11), p1, k 11.
ROW 2: K all sts.

Repeat these 2 rows for 8 ins.,

***I would work the two rows for 8 inches. That is for the man's size. Then continue the pattern for the toe.***

ROW 1: P 1, *k1, p1; repeat from * to end.
ROW 2: K1, *p1, k1; repeat from * to end.
Repeat these 2 rows of ribbing for 2 ins., end on wrong side.
First DEC. ROW: Work ribbing for 9 sts, * slip, k and psso, k1, k2 tog. *, work 7 sts ribbing, repeat between *'s once, finish row in ribbing; 31 sts.
NEXT ROW: Work 9 sts ribbing, p3, work 7 sts ribbing, p3, finish row.

2nd DEC ROW: Work 8 sts, * k2 tog., k1, slip, k and psso *, work 5 sts, repeat between *'s once, finish row; 27 sts.
