I have the money and I feel it's time to try something new. So I want to make a pr of socks out some self striping yarn. I google it and I may not be using the right words but I can't find any sock self striping yarn. Can some one point me in the right direction on finding some?

Thank you all. I have another question will a 100g ball of sock yarn make two socks of a ankle size sock? I have not used sock yarn before of this size. I usually use like a sport weight.

Simple answer....yes. As long as you have 400m of sock yarn you will have plenty.

100 gr. will make two over calf length socks for an average woman's size. I've used a 100 grams plus some extra for color change cuffs, heels and toes to make 2 pairs of anklets with a bit left over.

What and where did you buy?
Another time you can take a look at Garnstudio.com. They have beautiful sock yarn, and until the month May on sale too (35% off). Their sock yarn is called Delight and Fabel. The self striping yarn is Fabel. Enjoy!

Paton's Kroy has striping sock yarn in a good selection of colors. Also KnitPicks Felicity is striping. Have fun!
Add Regia sock yarn to the above. I get mine through Loveknitting in the UK. They are super reliable and I have only to wait 9-10 days for delivery even though I live in Australia.

Caveat: In order to make a matching pair of socks, you need to start each sock at the same point in the stripe.

I like Bella Batik for thin self-striping yarn... I've never made any socks though, at least not yet.

Heart & Sole with Aloe by Red Heart. The free sock pattern is on their website to support the yarn. Make sure you pull the yarn out from the center of the ball if you would like them to match. All the best!

I just made a pair with Kroy by Patons and am presently making a pair with Patons Lace. They both turned out great. Looking forward to many more. I bought Kroy sock yarn at Joann Fabrics. Once you start making the socks you won't stop! Enjoy
