Well I did it! I purchased a Spindolyn spindle and also a Lendrum spinning wheel. Since I have never done any type of spinning I will be reading lots of books and watching videos and leaning on my KP friends for advice.

Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks?

Congratulations! You will love your Lendrum. It's a spinning workhorse and you will spin the yarn of your dreams!

Just wondering where you purchased your wheel and spindle? If you don't mind sharing. Thank you.

For all you people who are learning to spin, if you have any problems, you can always PM me and I will try to help. I seem to be a really good teacher.

I don't know where you bought your wheels, but for anyone who is looking for one, I have met and dealt with Susan McFarland, who owns Susan's Fiber Shop, and she is the type of person who really knows spinning, and has a wide selection of wheels, really knows her wheels, and will do her best to find you a wheel that suits you. She's not the type to try to sell you something more expensive just so she can make some extra money. She always has an ad on the inner back cover of Spin Off magazine. Or you can find her on the internet here: http://www.susansfibershop.com/wheels.htm

The most versatile wheels out there are the Schact, Majacraft and Lendrum. If you start out thinking you want to spin heavy singles, and then later discover your real love is spinning lace yarn, you don't need to get a new wheel. A new whorl or two, or a few other-sized bobbins, and you're in business spinning something different.

Good luck to all the new spinners!

Thanks so much. I'm finding that spinning is as addictive as knitting and I never thought it was possible.

Lucky you. I have always wanted to get a spinning wheel and learn how to spin. Does anyone know if I can get one here is Canada?
The Lendrum wheels are made in Canada. I love it! I wish I had more time to use it so I could get to be a little better at it. What I really need is someone to work with me for a little bit. I'm getting it but still having some problems.

Thanks, but where do you order it from?
