I am originally from Wisconsin but moved to Turkey to teach chemistry at an international school. With some friends, we have started a stitching club (we want to include all handicrafts) that meets monthly. I learned to knit as a child from my great-aunt and I knit in my spare time now. During the school year, I knit smaller projects but usually take on a longer, more time consuming project in the summer.

Welcome from the Northwest corner of the US--Washington State north of Seattle near the Canadian Border.

Now that more crafts are represented on KP, there will be information on more than just knitting that should be helpful for your new group.

We lived in Ankara for 3 years and loved it! There is so much to see and do, so many wonderful places to visit. We were with the embassy. The children went to school at the Balghat. Would love to go back for a week or two.

Welcome from Columbus, OH. We drove from Paris to Baghdad in 1975 and spent the night in Istanbul. I lived in Iraq from 1973 -1989. Wonderful that you have the craft group. So many beautiful sights to see in Turkey.
