Hi everyone. Even though my profile says that I joined in 2011, I wasn't involved with the group back then. Times have changed and in the last few days I've been having a blast.
I am a wife and mom of 4 grown and married daughters. They have given us 11 grandkids and 2 great-grands.
In addition to crochet and knitting, I also do bead crochet, and am learning to shuttle and needle tat. Next I hope to learn wire crochet and the art of making jewelry.
I've done most of the needle arts - embroidery, crewel, counted cross stitch, ribbon embroidery, etc.
I love collecting vintage patterns as well as contemporary ones. Love good books - multi-task by listening to an audiobook while knitting. Also love good movies, esp the older ones from the 50s and 60s. My fave music comes from that era also.
In addition to a house where you can find yarn in just about every room, we have two Chihuahuas and two fish.
Thanks to all for great posts. I have already learned some new things. And isn't that what life is about? - meeting new people and learning new things.
God bless,
Madeleine

Sounds like your are a very busy lady. Welcome from Alabama!
Not really all that busy. I've had to give up the close-up needle work because of problems with my eyes. Recently had a corneal transplant and a cataract removed. Those tiny squares all run together now.

And thanks for the kind welcome!

Welcome busy lady. There are so many new crafts to try. I find this site as my encouragement and in the last couple of months I have completed so many projects. Just remember that you will be involved.

Welcome from another Tennessean (native one at that). I have a daughter and couple of granddaughters who live in Knoxville...one is named Madelyn! There are several nice yarn stores in K'town - Loopville and Yarn Have and then there is the Yarn Patch in Crossville, so some nice LYS in your neck of the woods that I like to visit when I go east...
