I have trouble reading my pattern on my knee when sitting in my lounge chair while knitting and watching TV. The book keeps falling off my knee (or my bird chews it)
Any ideas where to put it (not the bird he gets put to bed!!) Love reading all your bright ideas, have used many of them. Never too old to learn.

If you can get your hands on an old music stand, it's perfect for holding a pattern - adjustable height and angle of incline. It may even have the little arms that hold the pages in place, but sometimes they're broken off.

I have a magnetic thing that I have for years. I'm not sure that they make them anymore. It has a magnifying glass that you can move up,down, etc. to keep up with your rows. I keep it on the table beside me I also found a recipe book holder that works. you can adjust it to hold your book while you are cooking, but I use it for anything I have to read and use my hands for.

I bought a small table top stand at AC Moore. It's sort of triangle shaped. I put a red brick inside the stand to be able to support a books weight.

A music stand sounds great.I think I shall look,also.

I saw several nice portable music stands at a GWI store last week. Thought they were camera tripods but when I unfolded one it was for music. They were only $2.00 each too! Of course there is always my clipboard solution!

What's a GWI store? I was just in Gaylord/Lewiston over the weekend. I can't think of which store this would be.

An old typist's copy holder works, too. Usually cheap-o's available at Staples.
