I am working on a knitted V neck vest that the neckband will be added when the front and back are finished. The back is on stitch holders but the front shoulders will be bound off. The pattern says to knit the front and back together. I am not sure how to do this, has anyone done this and could offer me some advice? Thank you for your help

I think you line up your needles back to back and knit a stitch from the needle of the front together with a stitch from the needle of the back of the vest casting off at the same time. I hope I explained it

Thank you, I hope they will fit my grandboys. This wasn't without it's problems. The larger one I could follow the sizing on the pattern but it was not sized for the smaller one...I knew the length and the armholes were okay and hoped the V neckline would work. I was putting the smaller one together Sat. night and realized it was never going to fit over his head,I wanted to get them in the mail on Mon. I tore the front apart down past the V and went to bed. Sun. I re-calculated, took off one stitch on each side of the armholes, started the V an inch or so further down. The went out in the mail on Tues. Whew! I used Lily cotton Sugar and Cream yarn...they are a little heavy but I thought cotton would be better for the warmer months. That is if it ever gets warmer!
