I have some starched (with glue) snowflakes that have pin marks left on the white thread used (yes, I used galvanized pins). I have tried to put more glue on top to cover the marks but it doesn't work. I've tried the white paint in a bottle you get at craft stores that can be used on fabric but that doesn't work either. My sister covers hers up (when it happens) with glitter glue. I don't want to use the glitter glue, does anyone have any suggestions?

Use iron out or iron rid.You will have to reshape them after the wash.

For the next time, test all your pins with a magnet. If they go to the magnet, they may rust. If they don't, they're stainless steel and will not rust easily. Stainless steel pins exist; they're just not common. My mother taught me this trick; she never opened a new shirt without checking if the pins from it were stainless steel or not. She saved every one that was stainless.

Thank you for your comments. I should've put in my first post that all these pins are stainless steel. I pay extra to get these and keep them separate from any others. Maybe all of this will helps others.

I should've put in my original post that I am using stainless steel pins. I pay extra for them and keep them separate from others. My sister uses the same process and she has these issues sometimes also. Thank you for all your suggestions. We are looking for resolution without having to re-starch (by glue) them.

I wonder if you can cover it up by using a 'white out', liquid, the kind for use on paper. It is more opaque than paint.
That would be my suggestion as well.

A point of interest abour White Out. Did you know one of The Monkees singing group's mother invented it? Betty (Nesmith) Bennet mother of Mike Nesmith(I think that's his name).
