Hungarian stitch is normally used in needlepoint. The baby blanket is done with a stitch called Bavarian crochet. I just recently found a pattern book using this stitch and all the items are beautiful.

It is called bavarian Crochet these days, books on Annies Attic. Shirley.

I have a pattern of this Bavarian blanket, I missed the tuition at Knitters Guild when our LYS girls came up to give us a lesson. I would love to crochet it myself.

Thanks for the website Jessica Jean, you must be good at finding things for others. I wouldn't know where to begin.
