Is this stitch knitted of crocheted. There is a beautiful baby blanket in the pics today.
I can't seem to find this stitch in the how to's.

When i googled, It seems it is niether. It is a stitch used in embroidery or needle point. Although that does not mean that there isn't a crocheted or knitted pattern out there with that name.

Hungarian stitch is normally used in needlepoint. The baby blanket is done with a stitch called Bavarian crochet. I just recently found a pattern book using this stitch and all the items are beautiful.

I have a pattern of this Bavarian blanket, I missed the tuition at Knitters Guild when our LYS girls came up to give us a lesson. I would love to crochet it myself.

Hi everyone: The pictures posted at this website look like Bavarian Crochet. Annie's Attic has a book by that name that has several beautiful projects including an afghan/blanket. Perhaps that will help.

This is called Bavarian Crochet. Annies Attic has a book on it. I've made several afghans, laprobes and hats. Once you
get the hang of it, it's fast and fun to do.

i did an afghan in Bavarian crochet just this fall. That is what the blanket you are referring to looks like to me. It is very easy to do.

Here is a link for the stitch you are looking for and I think there are so pattens that are free as well. The post was Jan 30 and a kind lady gave the name of the stich and after a search under Bavarian crochet this is what I found.
