The view of the city from atop Mount Royal Park. Any and all seasons.Your town, city or country tomorrow so what would be the ONE thing you would recommend I must see??
Sadly, no longer. Our unloved mayor banned the horse-drawn vehicles a few years ago. Some things she’s done are good, but that was a really dumb move, in my opinion. It's been many years so my memory is fuzzy but am i correct that you can take the trip atop Mount Royal Park by horse and buggy? I'm sure hubby and i did that back in 1974.
It was wonderful in winter, when the buggy wheels were on removable runners to glide soundlessly on the snow, while everyone aboard was nestled under an antique buffalo robe.Well i agree with you..dumb move. I was born in Toronto, lived here all my 76 years and love my city but when hubby and i needed some time to ourselves we would drive to Montreal and walk the streets of Old Montreal, enjoy the foods and always took buggy rides around the old town. What a shame to take that experience away for all to enjoy!! The view from Mount Royal is beautiful for sure but even better by horse and buggy!!
Wow!!What to see in my "town"? Hope you are into hiking as it would be going to the top of Slide Mountain where on a clear day you can see 3 different states.
Montreal has some caves, but I never remember them in the heat of summer. Maybe this year?In the winter you can visit the ice caves around here. In the summer pictured rocks.
People drop dead in public places too. Shall we ban them?I am on the side of the horses here they had to travel amongst all the cars, trucks etc and the city crowds, Often the owner /drivers were cruel. One horse dropped dead in a busy street. I am so glad they have been banned!
Walking around Boston was when I fell in love with Crocs. I had just bought a pair of Crocs-clones ($3 at a dollar store!) and wore them, carrying my usual sandals in my backpack as backup, just in case my feet began to hurt from the new footwear.Well, I live in the Boston area and if you came here you might want to walk the Freedom Trail and see sites from the American Revolution. Maybe a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts or the Boston Symphony? Or maybe a trip to Cape Cod would be more up your alley. You might want to come in the fall to enjoy the foliage. Let me know when you’re coming and I’ll show you the sights 😉
I wasn’t looking for somewhere to move to; I hadn’t any intentions of leaving New York City. I just wanted to visit the site of Expo’67. Many of the exhibits were still up and running when I got there in late summer 1968, but it closed after Labour Day, leaving me several days of vacation to roam the city. THAT was the beginning of my vague idea of moving here. A return visit in January 1969 solidified the idea. It took another eighteen months for all the paperwork - company transfer and government visa - but I’ve been here since August 1970.…
Montreal which is a beautiful place to visit, …
Oh! I’d love to ride my bike across that: The Long Bridge - The Bridge to Sandpoint | Spokane HistoricalSandpoint? The Long Bridge, without question
Sadly, I haven’t been able to get the bright colours that are available in women’s and children’s sizes. I’m stuck with men’s size 12, and the brightest I’ve found is red. The others are olive-drab, white, grey, and black. However, my feet can’t see colours; they only care for comfort!!!Love my CROCS! I've got 6-7 pairs in bright colors. The toe box is oversized so my toes have wiggle room. I can be on my feet and in them all day without feet or ankles or legs getting tired. I wish I had known about them years ago. This year I bought two pair that are fuzzy lined and boy, does that help keep me warm on snowy and bitter cold days.
You have the perfect attitude!!!I promised myself, when I moved here almost 20 years ago, that if ever I could drive over the long bridge without admiiring its beauty I would have to move - I wouldn't deserve to live here. Of course if the weather and the roads are bad or if traffic is squirrely, I pay absolute attention to driving, but whenever I can, I look.
It makes me chuckle, sometimes I'll be behind a car with out of state plates and they'll just all of a sudden slow down to 35 or less (the speed limit is 55). Other cars honk, but I just patiently wait until they notice how slowly they're going - they've been gob-smacked by the mystical alchemy of sky and water and sun, I enjoy the chance to slow down and enjoy the experience with them.
