I thought I knew how to Knit and Crochet

I used to knit and crochet alot and stopped about 20 yrs ago d/t carpel tunnel and cats. I became interested again and find it's not justlike riding a bike! Many new things like mobius loop and magic loop that look fun but i haven't attempted. So far i crocheted a tea cozy and knitted one (came out terrible), baby booties and a vest that i haven't sewed togeter yet. Any suggestions on the best method would be appreciated. I am terrible at revesing a pattern and begged Lion's Brand to write down the right side directions which they finally did.

I came across a pattern that says Yoh and draw up a lop around post of the next stitch 2 rows below inserting hook from right to left (Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice - 1dcfp made. I looked up dcfp but basically the whole stitch is greek to me. Anyone able to explain this to an idiot?

i'm hoping to learn alot from you all.

((((((( I like to crochet parts/pieces together using the RSC when applicable. (Reverse single crochet stitch which produces a lovely finishing stitch that makes a CORDED look all around and is a stablizing stitch, too; It's fab. You, if a righthander, don't work it right to left as a normal SC, but go left to right and grab the next stitch and do a slightly looser SC. Three of these are required to round a corner or it won't lay flat. ))))))l))

((((((( I knit and crochet and can help you with some revisions......probably. ))))))))))

(((((((((( Yes. In this stitch (double crochet), you don't go into the two top loops as you normally would (righthanders):

Insert hook below the loops and
enter hook from the right
behind the post of the st.,
and then through the left of it
Draw up a loop ( 3 loops on hook now)
Complete a DC (dobule crochet) =
( YO thru 2 loops, YO 2 remaining loops)

You'll see the stitch form a POST as it pops out and it's used to make cables in crochet, too by reaching further left or right, with more loops on the hook to start and you can go further down in rows, too for a long post.

Also, you can BPDC (back post double crochet) where the popped up post will appear on the back side allowing you to cable on both sides of an item = neat! LOL!!

See this main link with several videos for the FPDC. You can pop a search in anytime for the BPDC and a myriad of other techniques you need. Use vdeo in your keyword search and it's almost better than having a human in your presence to teach or hinder you! LOL! )))))))))))))))
