I believe the hole are only large enough to fit the "seed" in.

You could sub a gallon jug. 5 litre jugs are probably only outside the US.

Is the 5 litre jug the Canadian gallon?

Do they smell like onions when you plant them in the garden? I doubt it. Onions don't give off an odor until you cut them.

I saw this idea somewhere and did not believe it. However, as I juice vegetables every couple of days, I thought I would try it to cut down on my grocery bill--could not believe it, but I am a convert! Have veggies growing on my windowsill!
