Well, I try to steer clear of naming anything based on the yarn I used so that it doesn't keep people from trying the pattern using a different fiber. But, I let my husband choose the name for this one........... :)

Quick and easy bookmark pattern that will work with ay yarn. Just use whatever size needles are required for the yarn you use and you'll be all set. You can make this wider and use it as a headband too. The pattern is in multiples of 7 with 2 edge stitches on each side, so if you increase your number of stitches in increments of 7 you will be fine.

GLITTER-ATURE: A Bookmark

You need: 2-weight yarn (small amount) and size 3 knitting needles. Or use any scrap yarn you have and the coordinating needles.

Abbreviations:

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

yo: yarn over

skp: slip one stitch knitwise, knit the next stitch, then pass the slipped stitch over the knit stitch

Cast on 18 stitches

Work Edge

Knit every stitch for 2 rows

Pattern:

Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12: k2, purl to last 2, k2

Row 1: k2, *k2, k2tog, yo, k3*; repeat from * to *, k2
Row 3: k2, *k1, k2tog, yo, k4*; repeat from * to *, k2
Row 5: knit all stitches
Row 7: k2, *k3, yo, skp, k2*; repeat from * to *, k2
Row 9: k2, *k4, yo, skp, k1*; repeat from * to *, k2
Row 11: knit all stitches

Repeat Rows 1 - 12 until the piece is desired length.

Work Edge Again

Knit every stitch for 2 rows

Bind off all stitches and enjoy!

Very pretty! Nikki, our Shih Tzu, got Lyme in 2010. She is okay now, which we are quite happy about. Chewi, our German Shepherd, has heartworms in the very beginning stages. She only has 1 that the vets can find. No little ones or eggs or whatever they are called, maybe larvae or something.. We were giving her Interceptor, which should have stopped this from happening. The vet said that we should give her HeartGard now, being diligent about it so that this will never get worse. They will take another test in 6 months to see if it has progressed or gotten worse. If so, then we will treat her for them with our income taxes because it is way expensive.

With Nikki, the antibiotics took care of the Lyme disease. I was kind of shocked when the vet told me she had it. She said that it was in the very early stages and that we could choose not to treat it. What??? Of course NOT! We did treat it, caught it, killed it, and now we check her every year at her annual checkup.

Why would anyone make a conscious choice NOT to treat their loving pet? I didn't get it then, and I don't get it now.
