This is a topic that should be of concern to all parents, grandparents, and those that have loved ones in school.

While I agree that some form of testing is necessary, and parents should have the option to opt their kids out if they feel it's not in the best interest of their child, what I disagree with is students being "taught to the test." That is exactly what is happening in many cases, and kids are taught nothing else but what they will be tested on. Also in many cases teacher and administrator's pay is based on how well a school does on the test. As a parent who's child is a product of the Florida school system, and one that spent many hours working as a volunteer I've seen more than most.
Any and all standardized testing that was given to my son had results shared with me, and parents were "previewed" the tests before they were administered.
