((((((( Hang around here, then and welcome! LOL!!

You meant knit and knitting, right? Not kitting and kitty?

Do you hand knit, machine knit, loom knit - which method of hand knitting do you do if you hand knit? We have a few English knitters here, also Continental and at least one who Portuguese knits by hand. Machine knitters are in here, too along with loom knitters.

hi bird, To me hand knitting is the art and craft of knitting and the mistakes one finds when one is finished add to its beauty. I may be the only one who sees them and knows where they are and the item is truely one of a kind.

Hello Bird,
Welcome.
Hand knitting, I have no idea how that is done or what it looks like. Hope you can post a picture of your work.
Hope you enjoy this fun group.

Welcome to the forum! It is fun and full of some of the best information, patterns and links I've ever seen! Almost everything I have knitted or crocheted have some mistake/flaw in them. I always tell people if they notice that it is no mistake/flaw, but the place where my spirit comes and goes from so that I am always with them. Silly, but it actually impresses people too! LOL

Anyway, big welcome from New Mexico!

Hi Jackie,
When I was involved in a senior knitting group, all errors were renamed "angel kisses" It became a challenge to make sure wvery item we knit had an "angel kiss".
Guess it's all in how we see things.

Linda, that is really a sweet sentiment! Perhaps I'll re-name my "mistakes." Yeah, I agree about that is how we see things...but overall we both put a lot of love into what we make, and that is one of the most important things we have to give as human beings. I applaud all creative people who give what they make.

Bird....is your technique done with a long crochet hook and you put on lots of stitches and then slip them off as you go back across? It sounds sort of like what I know as "afghan stitch" and it makes a great "canvas" for cross stitch embroidery. You sound VERY talented!
