Knitted dish towel toppers

Does anyone have a pattern for the knitted top that goes on a dish towel that is not made seperately and then sewed on. I've made hundreds of crocheted dish towels but not a knitted one. Thanks

Check Lion Brand's website, they have a free pattern that had both knit & crochet towel toppers in the same pattern. Just use the pattern finder and search "tea towel."

((((((( I have a pattern for a 100% knit, hanging, buttoned hand towel that works well in the kitchen or bath, even the laundry room, or make it double thick for a man-size, even half size for a child's kitchen + the matching cloth pattern, but I don't have a knit topper pattern per your specs.

You might check knittingpatterncentral for 'towel toppers'.

Good luck!

I have a pattern for a knit topper but my scanner doesn't work. I checked the Lion brand site and the patterns are the same except my directions say to cut the towel in half and fold over 1/4 inch twice and stitch then make 67 evenly spaced holes directly below hem and pick up 67 stitches. Then complete with Lion Brand pattern
I used the Lions website pattern and made a bunch that sold out at my church's holiday basaar.
Sounds like fun. May I share your pattern? When i was younger, older ladies crocheted some for me. I want to pass the joy along--in knitted tea towels.

I actually made a mistake. It wasn't a Lion's pattern, but Lilly's Sugar N Cream yarn pattern:

I used the one with the stripe, but in most cases just used one color yarn. And I bought some inexpensive packages of washcloths in WalMart to use for the towel.
Thank you for the pattern. I am making mine all one color. I will give a couple to a dear lady who knits wash cloths for people. I think I'll make the buttonhole bigger, to be easier for her to handle.

Them are just what I was looking for .Thank you.
Pattern available at FaveCrafts.
