Thanks to anyone who can tell me what to look for in a knitting machine. I would love to get one, but don't know the right questions to ask about a used machine.
What's the main thing to look for/ask about?
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Hi,my name is Dee (oldbroad) I am new to this site so you may already have answers, but if not here are a few things to consider.. I have 2 Brother machines with all attachments for both. They are 20 years old and going strong. However they are no longer made and getting parts can be difficult so you may wish to consider other brands. Silver Reed a good one. When buying used may wish to look for ones with several attachments included to save you money as you get into machine knitting you want to do more things and all the parts and pieces really add up the dollars. Most useful big attachments for me were the Ribber and Color changer and lots of instruction books.Rarely use my knit leaders or disc computer. Always look machine over carefully to be sure it has been totally refurbished, new sponge bars and lined up needles. If getting a ribber as well have it put into work position and be sure it has not been sprung(the space between the 2 beds should be the same all the way across.A really good dealer or someone who has it on site for you to see is usually safer than site unseen. I wish you many years of enjoyment.Dee (Dolores Angleton in Florida)

Hi Debbie, Trying to find a group in South Florida.
Are you in the area or do you know of any K.M. groups between West Palm Beach to Miami.

Regards
You may be able to find a knitting group through a knitting supply dealer. I've spoken with www.theknittingcloset.com for KM??? & accessories etc., I believe they're local for you and may know of a group you can contact. If not, at least you have a good source for some accessoires.
