Will be in St. Louis (Brentwood) for a wedding this weekend and may have some free time. Are there any knitting shops worth seeking out? I did read some nice reviews for Knitorious.

My daughter lived there for grad school. I never made it to the Kirkwood Knittery, but I understand it is well worth the trip, and where I should have gone. I did go to one, can't remember the name, located near Wash. U...near University city. I will text my daughter, & see if she remembers. They had some nice yarns but I didn't have "chemistry" with the store.

I can recommend Kirkwood Knittery. I was visiting St Louis, got hung up on a pattern and they were very helpful. It's on the south side of Manchester Rd, just east of Lindbergh. Not terribly far from Brentwood, probably 20 minutes from the Galleria.

My daughter said the store was on "the loop" near University City

The yarn shop I frequent is called "wool gatherings" and is in Eureka. Jari and Lisa are 2 of the nicest people I know. They are so willing to help. Their shop is small but packed to the brim with beautiful yarns. Love going there just to chat and dream about all the things I would make with their yarns. We are quite blessed in St. Louis to have at least 7-8 wonderful shops. Wool Gatherings is located in a building called Wallach House Antiques which also is a neat place to look around and shop. Not all antiques but some very unique items. The entire house is open 7 days a week but Jari and Lisa are only ther Tuesday through Saturday. Believe me this is worth the visit.
Enjoy St. Louis. It really is a beautiful city with LOTS of free things to do and visit!

Thanks to everyone for the quick responses! I will Google map everything, then try to negotiate with my husband -- one microbrewery for every knitting store! Sounds fair to me except I will partake in a cold one, but he won't come near the yarn...

I love the Weaving Department at Myers House. The staff is terrific, the yarn selection is fantastic AND there is a resident ghost!!

It might be out of your way, but definitely worth a trip!

I also like Knit and Caboodle. They are so kind and have great yarn--plus you have all the other wonderful shops on that same street to visit. You could also go to Trailhead Brewery on Main Street to make your hubby happy! http://www.trailheadbrewing.com

Have a safe journey!
Blessings,
Shirley
P.S. The knitting shop in University City closed. The name escapes me, but it's been closed for several months.
