I had to work out how to start a topic on the new format- don't think I have done it yet.
Kate is in England with her whole family in a very large house for a few days- celebrating her 70th birthday.
Should be about 1pm EST (well about 4am EST in Australia!) but as I am heading to bed now I don't anticipate being up to post for a while so here is this weeks new Tea Party. Half way through March already!

Summary of Friday 10th March, 2023 by Darowil

The summary and following lists are a summary of last week's Tea Party and are of more value to the regulars here unable to keep up with all the chatter than to newbies - who are very welcome to join us at any time just by speaking up and making yourself known. All the pages etc refer to last week’s Tea Party Knitting Tea Party, Friday 10th March, 2023

Sassafras’s DGD has been accepted into Notre Dame Law School.

Jazzy’s DH and his brother are working hard on getting their father’s house ready to sell-hope to have it on the market early next week- and then He will be able to return home and stay put. The funeral was this morning so probably finshed by now

Pearl Girls DH has had 3 teeth removed- and He already seems brighter.

Swedenme’s sinuses have been playing up for about a week and seem to be finally settling

Thank you Margaret for the new week, wondered why you were up so early.
‘Yes it’s nearly 6.30am Saturday morning here.
‘Happy St Patrick’s Day to all in northern hemisphere. Green beer was on the menu here but not for me, much prefer corned beef with cabbage potato carrots and a honey mustard cheese sauce. Yum!

It is almost 3p.m. here in Maine, so Darowil posted around 2 p.m.
I finally caught up on KP, still in my PJs. Just finished making and receiving many phone calls. Not much accomplished.
I need to hurry and finish my March postcards as March will be over soon. I want to get them in the mail today so that I only have to drive up once.

wow, thank you Darowil for starting us off again. So glad that Kate is having a great time with her family.
Sunny here and all but three of the roses have been pruned. Now taking the trimmings, one container at a time in the back of the Golf, to the green recycle place. I have at least 3 or four more to go with what I trimed yesterday. DS will help me trim the woody bushes next to my deck. I am thinking I shall have to charge the Datsun pickup battery to get them to the recycle. I would take the rose trimmings but there is a shell on the pickup which makes it difficult to load those sticky trimmings. Just learned that we are to have another snowstorm on Sunday from that atmospheric river.
Hoping all are healing and doing well.

Well done Margaret, you managed it! Many thanks for holding the fort while Kate is away celebrating her birthday. I see you started the new week about 4 hours ago so that would have been around 5.30pm here.
Having got in at the start, I’ll try and keep up this week!

More snow -- holy crap 🤯 When is it going to end? We're getting drizzly rain and it is sooooo gloomy and depressing 😟. I really don't like being stuck indoors for so long but the weather is just too miserable to even think about going out. Good thing I don't have a dog here. Getting the roses trimmed is a good spring project, you'll have to post photos when they're blooming.
Thanks to Margaret for getting us going for another week. Much appreciated, and I hope Kate is having a wonderful birthday celebration with her family.
Saw this shawl in the latest Knitty.com. Totally in love with it, absolutely do not need it but will probably make it anyways if I can find the yarn.

Kate, great job you have done, much better than I could ever do. Happy St. Paddy's day to everyone that celebrates. I wore my green sweater to exercise class today and got more compliments than I even expected. I knitted it a few years ago and those people in the class seemed to be surprised that I knitted it.

My neighbour has already arranged to cook corned beef and cabbage for a friend and me even though it will be on Sunday,. Who cares! I still love cornbed beef and cabbage.

Wow, that is a beautiful shawl. I'm going to see if I can pull it up. It's been raining all day and very dreary - doesn't make me feel like doing much. It's supposed to be colder tomorrow so who knows what else is on the horizon.

Good morning everyone, or evening. Margaret thank you for our new week and also hope that Kate is having a wonderful 70th. She’s still a spring chicken to me, lol!
Really didn’t sleep much last night, boohoo but slept till 10 am. Not tired thankfully. Now I’m waiting for my sil and brother to return from their coffee get together, I know they will be teasing me big time, lol!
My eldest sister and a younger one are arriving tomorrow, we will then be travelling to Te Poke (spelling?) never heard of it before but it is where a niece and her hubby have their Kiwifruit farm. I’m looking forward to this, who knows they may put me to work to earn my keep.
Stay well everyone.

Te Puke is a great growing area for the Kiwifruit, and citrus have fun.

I was torn between whether to wear green for St Patricks day or wearing red for remembering everyone deployed. It was a very hard decision for me today. . . I finally decided. . . :ROFLMAO: I stayed in my P.J.s all day instead. They are turquoise and white striped. I feel so much better not making the decision. . .now I am ready for bed time when it rolls around. LOL!
Thanks ladies for starting the new week. I hope the Birthday girl is enjoying every minute and second of her 4 day "advance".

The prayer shawl is finally off the needles. Now I'm waiting for tomorrow or the finishing fairy to show up, whichever comes first, to take care of the ends and put the fringe on.🧚‍♀️ My preference would be the fairy but she's never around when I need her. 😅 I can start looking for another project, hopefully one that's a bit more challenging.
Mike said the funeral went off without a hitch this morning and thankfully, the weather, while still wet and windy, wasn't as bad as expected. Tomorrow starts the final three day push to get the house ready and the plan is to have it all done by Monday afternoon. After that, I might just have a roommate again 😃
Finishing a good book so I'll say goodnight, back in the morning.

Hi ladies!
Thank you Margaret for starting us off, Kate have a lovely time.
Marla and I did the shopping today, not a lot, just a few things we each needed, just went to Whole Foods, Sam's, and My Sister Knits. I got the yarn to finish the socks, I think it is working quite well, and I was bad, I got the yarn to knit the sweater I want to do, I'm going to finish these socks and hopefully the other socks before I cast on, but at least I have the yarn when I'm ready, I'll post a picture later, but I think it will be very pretty, the pattern will be Zig by Andrea Mowry. Anyway, I'm just waiting for my Apple Watch to charge so I can finish my second treadmill workout and then make some dinner.

Thanks, Margaret and Kate for starting us off. Much appreciated.

DD had his post-surgery appointment today. Fortunately everything is going well. The large splint was removed and now he has a much smaller wrap which is much easier to manage. His sutures won’t come out for another week, and he has to schedule occupational therapy for when that happens. I think he is a little worried about pain when the sutures come out (have learned through this experience that he is more worried about pain than he ever let on before) but I don’t think removing sutures is painful? When I had knee surgery years ago there was no pain when the sutures were removed.
