Knitting Tea Party, Friday 18th November, 2022 :knitting1:

I seem to be getting earlier and earlier posting the new week, but I’m always afraid as the night goes on that I’ll forget altogether! So here we are early as usual - and to be honest “early” is not usually my “usual”, I’m more inclined the opposite!

Summary of Friday 11th November, 2022 by Darowil
The summary and following lists are a summary of last week's Tea Party and are of more value to the regulars here unable to keep up with all the chatter than to newbies - who are very welcome to join us at any time just by speaking up and making yourself known. All the pages etc refer to last week’s Tea Party Knitting Tea Party, Friday 11th November, 2022

A lot more pages this week than we have had for a while but mainly general chit-chat this week.

Kate has been referred for an endoscopy although the nausea has now gone. 🤞🏻

Flyty1n had a MRI this week to work out what is wrong with her leg - no wonder she has had pain as she has a break and a meniscal tear. Fracture is well aligned and only a small tear so no treatment other than Tylenol/paracetamol and walking only as tolerable without too much pain.

Machristie came back from her weekend away unwell - and remains unwell.

Jazzy has been looking after her grandson this week and so has been around very little. Now back home.

Poledra has finally done the last of her farm work - and tells us she is not going to do it next year!

Grandies are growing up quickly with one reaching double figures, twins reaching two and two young ones becoming mobile - Matthias especially. Some weeks just seem to make the KP grandies growing up show up so clearly.

Funny how we are, when we realize things like that the liver filters, but it's always well cleaned before cooking. lol
Liver depends on how it's cooked, some cook it to death and it's worse than shoe leather, my dad did a good job with onions and potatoes, my aunt used to cook it in red wine.
My SIL Lilian used to slice it thinly and dip it in flour egg breadcrumbs and fry it in butter like schnitzel and it was ok.
I don’t like it so never cook it myself. I can eat kidneys but no other offal food. Sheep brains and tripe was something I had in childhood and cannot stand either yuk!

💕💕{{{hugs}}} Easier said than done, but try not to fret over all of this until you know for sure what's going on. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other one day at a time and keep your horizon short. You've had a lot going on lately and I hope when the dust settles, there's more good news than bad.
Very well said, Sharon. I hope everything works out well for you Gwen. 💕

He’s a big boy fits 3 year old clothes and just turned 2. He’s a dead ringer of his dad.

Quite like kidney, don’t mind liver, but I love tripe!

My father had tripe and onion club he belonged to and the members would take turns at each other’s homes hosting the meal.
I found the smell of it cooking not great and refused to eat it. Each to their own preferences with food.
‘I like haggis and blood sausage 👍
I like liver; beef/calf and chicken/turkey. Especially calf liver cooked with onion and green pepper. If cooked with a touch of vinegar makes the flavor a bit milder and tenderizes it too. Oldest DD used to ask me to cook it until she found out the function of the liver. Then refused to eat it which I always thought was funny. I don't cook it now as DH doesn't like it.
I used to eat calves liver with onions also. When I found that it was the cleansing organ of the animal, I also stopped eating it. That is about the same time I found out what was being fed and done to animals. No thank you.
I did eat it a lot during my second pregnancy as borderline Toxemia put me on a very strict 1200 calorie diet. Most things were measured, liver was listed as 1 piece. I would get the biggest pieces I could as I was always famished. DS was 9# and 9oz. when born. He has had many medical issues that I always pray didn't come from the toxicities in the calves liver. I never had it at home as my mother couldn't even stand the smell. She came from a large family and the whole family got sick so she cooked and ate all the liver so that nothing went to waste. She never ate it again.

There is a reason that it is all called Offal instead of awesome. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
My mother also liked pickled tripe. None of us kids did. It must have been cheap!

Had our morning walk and a good breakfast. Now time to put away laundry I put in the washer and dryer earlier.
KayeJo: I'd say that is quite a spread and you are likely to have LOTS of left overs. (I'll include my address for air delivery. LOL)
My sis....the one who doesn't believe in any vaccinations, masks, etc., has Covid now. So her plans for T.G. ing are squelched. Bad cough, weakness and nausea. She does the placement of Hallmark cards at the various WalMarts in her area in SoCal. It is a wonder she has missed it all this time. When masks were mandated, she did wear one though to her credit.
Gwen, I'm banking that whatever it is is what we always called "oldtimers". We have been around so long, with so many changes in everything in our world from soup to nuts, our minds are just like giant computers. And someone like you who crafts so many different things, has an enormous amount of 'data' stored. Some of it has to be deleted in order to let new data in. I think we all face that daily. Plus, if our loved ones notice little differences, well, grandma used to call it 'just aging dearie'. So, that's my two cents.

As a PS to that, Einstein was asked for his phone number once, so the story goes. He handed the person a phone book and said you will have to look it up. He allowed as how he had so many numbers and formulae he had to remember, a phone number that was easily found in a book was too insignificant to commit to memory!

Just sitting here relaxing. I just finished my breakfast at 1:30 as the visiting nurses came this morning. A new nurse has joined the group and came an hour early, I was still feeding him. She told me to continue. I filled out a form to stop my taxes from going up and now I can't find it. It has to be in before December 1, which doesn't give me much time. I have been sorting piles of Tax filings and bills etc. trying to find it. Not Yet Found!

I agree about the smell of it cooking - my mum used to boil hankies in a pot to clean them and it was a similar smell!

I only cook it for DH, I used to eat it but it now gives terrible indigestion. He like it fried black🤮
That is how I like it, only with bacon.
Budasha, I got your card today. Thank you. It will be opened Christtmas eve.
Good morning ladies, thank you re the cross stitch pillow, I always get a chuckle out of it. Silly me threw out the pattern but I’m thinking of maybe making it for someone so will need to study it and write down the stitches, it’s done on 11ct Aida so quite big which is easy to see.
‘Yesterday I got photos of our Arlo, goodness he’s growing, not a baby anymore.
Didnt do much except knitting yesterday, horrible weather and more expected today, not summer at all.
‘Gwen and Marilyn thoughts to you for relief from the nasty virus, and your problems Gwen. i hope the tests give you peace of mind, Hugs.
What a darling little boy. The pictures were wonderful.
Gwennie, your card arrived today. I am keeping it until Christmas to open. Thanks for being a part of this joy.
Very cold this morning and won't get up above 30F at the height of the afternoon. I tore out the second sock down to where the heel increase starts. I now have that done and started on the Fleagle heel decrease. Hoping to shortly get it caught up to the other sock which is already on the leg. I have determined that I am a very slow knitter.
You and me both!
As much as I would love to take credit for that wonderful pun, I'm afraid the glory goes to Alibee this time. I'm over the top impressed by her quick wit on this one though. Well done 😅😅👍
Thanks, sometimes the line just comes out!
