Do not eat anything like that , just makes me shudder to think about it , mother used to eat tripe but no not for me , My MIL used to cook liver and onions for me when I was pregnant , I got husband to eat in when she wasn't looking
My mom quickly learned that my sister and I would rather go without supper than eat liver so she would give us something else when she cooked it. We were never fussy eaters so I guess we were allowed this one free pass.

We have had a shortage of some cough medicines here for a while now., also here there is shortage of childrens amoxil antibiotics.. my pharmacist said it is one of the ingredients that there is a shortage of... not sure if its worldwide or just here.
I wonder why there are shortages of these products all over. What are the drug manufacturers doing instead because they're still making money hand over fist?

Daughter and I left the house at 7:30 to be at clinic when it opened at 8; got there at about 10 to and there was a line of about 12 standing out in the cold waiting for it to open. All was very efficient once inside. Didn’t take long. Great nurse and doc. Ended up with a chest X-ray for pneumonia. It was neg. Doc said I was probably not contagious after the 1st week, prescribed antibiotic for bronchitis and recommended Mucinex. As we were leaving, we heard registration person telling new patients it would be a 3-hour wait. Glad I went in. Dd is roasting the 2 of us a chicken today. To all who celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving Day.
I'm so glad you finally got checked out, if only for peace of mind -- ours as well as yours 😅 Hopefully the antibiotic will do the trick and get you to feeling well again. Bonus getting in and out ahead of the crowd 👍 and now you can enjoy your Thanksgiving.

Had a great start to my day today with a six mile walk along my biking route. There's a driving range beside the path about three miles out where the geese like to hang out and I watched flock after flock coming in with perfectly synchronised approaches, flaps down, wheels locked and gliding in for textbook landings. I don't know where their air traffic control center was but there were no near misses or confusion, it was as if each lead goose picked a patch of green grass to aim for and led his flock in. The icing on the cake was when I looked over my shoulder and saw a whitetail buck on the path about 50 ft away just watching me. He started walking toward me until he figured out what I was because I wasn't moving, then turned around and ambled away obviously not feeling threatened. Stuff like this just makes my heart sing. There's a kitchen party downstairs this afternoon and today we take my grandson swimming. The only thing that would make today better is if I've finally got the afghan pieces ready to join. Hope everyone else is having as good a day 💕

Good golly, I'm 5 pages behind, you all have been chatty.
My friend and I cast on the Andrea Mowry Bear Paw Socks KAL last night, it's DK weight so going quite quickly for me. My friends first socks, and she's doing pretty well and having fun so that's the main thing.
I put the turkey in at 7am, so it should be done by 11a, then I can get the sides in, I did get the cranberry socks and pie made yesterday, so just the two veggie casserole and mashed potatoes really to do.
I need to do the floors yet, but I want to get on the treadmill first, after I finish my coffee.
Back to catching up.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!
Is this a family tradition -- cranberry socks?😅😅 Do you boil, bake or braise them, cook them whole or chopped up, inquiring minds want to know.

What branch of the service were you in? Had you ever drunk any spirits before in your life? I would love to know more of your life.
My life was pretty typical of anyone who grew up in the military world. I was born into it, joined it, married it (twice 😅) and retired nine years ago as a civilian working on Canada's largest air force base. As for service, my dad was army so I grew up on army bases, but by the time I joined, the government had combined all three services into the Tri Service Canadian Forces with a common uniform so there were no separate branches to identify with. I ended up being affiliated with the air force when that changed back. As for drinking, the age of majority was 18 so I had at least a year's worth of experience by the time I started basic training, although I shudder now when I remember some of the awful stuff I drank back then.😵😵🥴🤮

We have Black Friday here too, it’s actually been going on all week with huge discounts on things to wrangle money from the customers.
I won’t be indulging either cant cope well with crowds in the malls.
You and me both. Black Friday never used to be a thing in Canada until our retailers figured out how many Canadians were shopping south of the border and they started it here as well. Unfortunately, they seem to be trying to outdo the Americans and sales throughout the year are advertised as Black Friday prices. I stay far away from the whole thing, both online and in person. There is nothing I need that badly.

Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving meal and gathering be it small or large. We went to oldest DD's and had a wonderful time. I mentioned that I'd been making resin stuff and would take pictures; haven't taken them yet but did take a picture of the mug I made for youngest DGD for her birthday which was last Saturday. Of course, forgot to take a pic of the one for oldest DGD's birthday...LOL! Her name is on the other side. View attachment 1268314
Wow. That's so pretty and a beautiful gift. I love it!

It's gorgeous. I do love mugs- when I travel I often get a mug so have a large collection. Have got more discerning as I doubt whether I will ever run out of mugs either.
I'm the same way with mugs and had to do a huge purge when we moved. My youngest has been getting me silly sayings mugs for Christmas so I kept those but most of the others went away. Do I start collecting again or just enjoy the uncluttered look of my cupboards 🤔

It seems like someone’s on strike every other day at the moment. Teachers, nurses, doctors, postmen, railways, university staff, dustmen, you name it, there’s someone on strike. I appreciate they’re all feeling the pinch but if they all got what they’re asking for, we’d be even more bankrupt than we already are! Sorry Sam. 🙄
I think labor unrest for a few years is going to be another lingering effect of the whole pandemic episode. Front line workers in many occupations were pushed to their limits for over two years, often without adequate support and now they want that to be recognized. The premier of Ontario almost precipitated a national strike when he tried to legislate away one union's right to strike in the province. I don't call this talking about politics, it's current events, and there aren't any simple solutions at the moment.

it's warm here too well for this time of year 😄, got a house like a tip but decided while the sun is shining I'll open all the windows to let some fresh air in and go tidy the shed and garden , that's done now so a quick cuppa before I put the washing on the line and start on the house , talking of geese some are squawking away as they fly over and a dog is barking away at them , don't think he realises he has no way of chasing them 😄
I just read a news story about a local dog who had to be rescued by firefighters when she broke away from her owner and chased geese into a pond yesterday. The owner tried to get her out but had to be pulled out by passers by, there was just enough ice on the pond to be dangerous. Obviously, some dogs are not wired to put brains before impulse 😅

a friend of mine collects mugs from different countries she has visited. she has so many. But they are too large in my estimation….well at least for coffee. I always have to make sure to visit the loo before leaving her place! Lol
Give your head a shake, girl! There's no such thing as a too big coffee mug 😅

Good morning everyone, another dull day in paradise. Weather isn’t playing ball at all it’s still cool and wet, more like autumn than summer.
A few aches and pains troubling them ole bod this morning, will be seeing my doctor Tuesday about the Fosamax she wanted me to let her know how it’s going. I have a few concerns about it so need to discuss with her, as a few difficulties with it.
‘Yes Jazzy it’s a month until Christmas and lots to do for everyone Re gifts and food to be organised. I’m just glad I’ve got mine pretty much sorted except for a few fresh food items I will need on 25th. My family are coming for breakfast and their request is for pamcalses
Pamcalses?🤔 Can you serve those with cranberry socks on the side? Obviously, my Christmas menu is lacking in originality, we just go for the same old traditions. 😁

Sad when people can’t get along well enough to let Christmas be fun & stress free.
It's bad when politics and religion become flashpoints. Some families and friendships have never recovered from disagreements over COVID protocols and mandates or differences in political affiliations and beliefs. There's so much stress in the world now, you would think family would be a safe haven where all of that could be put temporarily on hold for a bit of peace.
