Had a look through the fabric stash from next door check these gorgeous pieces out.
‘I think I might make something with the top piece it’s shantung fabric green on blue.
‘Will see if Kay wants any of it, she loves those aqua colours too. Very apt with all the water around here! ☔💦 View attachment 1278766

I stopped on the way to bowling & dropped off DILs birthday card with $$ for a gift. She said DS got the job & starts next week. I haven’t talked to him yet to hear the details but hopefully it will work out well.
i better rise up, I got the laundry done earlier today but now need to get it all folded & away.
I'm so glad he got the job!

Had dem bones 🦴 xrayed this afternoon, all good ,
results will go to my doctor in due course.
We have another long weekend to celebrate the Treaty of Waitangi, signing between Maori tribes and the Crown of England on 6th February 1840. It’s often a time of grievances being aired and controversy with the politicians who go up there for ceremonies.
I’ve been there and there is quite a powerful energy feeling on the treaty grounds even when there aren’t any celebrations.
Was told by a local that I am very sensitive to picking up on energy in places like this. 👻
It’s very humid outside temp was reading 28C on my car gauge.
‘Just remembered it was 2 years ago on that weekend when I broke my vertebrae so I’m staying out of my garden no heavy lifting.

Once again great news regarding my Ultrasound, yes it is a cyst and I will need to go once a year to make sure everything is still okay! It’s not cancerous. 👍🥰

I’m going to go ahead and book my trip, probably tomorrow, as I need to talk to my brother.
Lorraine is booking hers today, she will fly non-stop from Chicago to Auckland then take another flight to Wellington so she can stay with our eldest sister for about 3 weeks.

That’s beautiful Fan, one I would wear myself for sure. You will have to show me when I come to visit, lol!
Fantastic news!!

Maybe you could call your phone provider and let them know about that. It seems that some scammers are somehow using people's phone numbers... I dont know how but there was a thing on the news a while ago about it. Could be what's happened.
I didn't think of that. Might do that tomorrow.

Lynette I have been waiting till you got your ultrasound results to post this. Just a little encouragement, I am a 24 year survivor of kidney cancer. In 1999 I had a 7 cm tumor (small orange size) in my left kidney. I had surgery to remove the kidney, and because the tumor was contained inside the kidney, the surgery was curative, no chemo or radiation needed. Five years later I was told I had a spot on the other kidney, and of course I panicked. It turned out to be a cyst, and I am checked every year with an ultrasound. All these years later, everything is still fine! The sonographer told me that many people have kidney cysts as they age, and the only way you know is if you have to be tested for some other reason. So I have had both the cancer and the cysts, and I'm still kicking!
Wonderful! I am so glad you are still here to tell us. Great encouragement for Lynnette. And great to see you post. We miss you.

How much does a cord of wood cost in California?

Prices
Wood TypesCord1/2 Cord
Oak$ 570.00$ 320.00
Almond/Peach$ 490.00$ 280.00
Walnut$ 470.00$ 260.00
Pine/Eucalyptus$ 380.00$ 230.00

Well, that's from the net. Have to see a loal paper to see what it is here locally. But I am sure we went through a cord in the winter. Pricy compared to where you are or no?
And what is a cord of wood? Not a measurement I've heard of. Is it weight or area?

she’s had it serviced annually. My peeve was and is that someone can just come in and say, nope you bad person you can’t have that. Where is it going to end? What are they going to do next, check everything in our homes and take out what some government has decreed is evil? I’m so over it…..too much big brother…
I remember thinking back in the early 1990s when we were renovating a place that while each housing rule that applied made sense by itself taken together they made a huge number of hoops to jump through to get anything done. And much harder now as well.

good evening. Just sat down and thought I should do a quick catch-up. Was going to comment but per usual my head is empty. After our walk I took Gus for his groom and he is so handsome again. Goodness….such an improvement. Not sure what happened last time and why the grow out was so terrible. Groomer couldn’t figure it out either. Anyway, he is super handsome again. Tuckered him out as afterwards went to show off to dd and grandson played fetch with him. By the time we got home he went to his bed and fell sound asleep. Now he’s raring to go again. Of course just when I’m winding down for the night. seems like I didn’t get enough done today though. Talked to an old friend for over an hour and also made a huge pot of Gumbo. Froze quite a bit which will be nice to a quick lunch or dinner. Still haven’t seen buttons of the cardi…I really need to get to it and send it off. Anyway, have a good evening or day. Back to my knitting. View attachment 1278995

That nonsense is just crazy. They used to call anyone who thought they were more than one person schizophrenic & treated them🙄I think a lot of this nonsense is just to drum up publicity for a fading career or to get more acting jobs because they are now a minority. It’s like if you can think up something stupid, everyone is just supposed to accept it. They even say there are ?52 genders, how insane is that?
Our options tend to be Male, Female, other and/or prefer not to say. Haven't heard much recently about the huge number of possible genders.
I wonder how long it will be before people start getting conditions that are genetically more common in one gender than the other and have them missed as they fail to tell the medical workers that they are biologically the opposite to what they say? And while you can change yourself physically they can't make those genetic changes. Seems to me they must open themselves up to an extra set of conditions as some are hormone related and others genetically determined. And likely to have the influence of both sets of hormones unless you transitioned pre-puberty.

I didn't think of that. Might do that tomorrow.
Oh, that's what I was going to say earlier, my financial advisor got a phone call on his cell phone, from his cell phone number, like that was a legit call?! lol. They highjack people numbers and use them because they think you'll answer if it's someone you know, sick really.

That's one reason why I would never want to relive my youth. Kids, even young ones, can be thoughtlessly cruel and if you're different or shy, you become a target. Girls seem to take longer than boys to grow out of that stage, teenage girls are even worse I think. And now that they have social media, they can be anonymous b*****es from the comfort of their bedrooms.
thankfully that's one thing I never saw at the small school I went to , have to say I loved school , when I say that my husband looks at ne as if I'm crazy or from another planet 🤣

Yes, we are even going to travel together. I’m going to fly over to Chicago, we will meet in the airport then fly to Auckland. We will return together as well, this way I will be able to help her whenever. She’s not the best on her legs so have made sure that she has a wheelchair in the airports etc. Our family in NZ are so excited that it’s finally coming together, lol!
I haven’t seen 2 of my sisters for 43 years, so that should be fun.
How exciting that will be. How many of you are there? And will you see them all? Do you have dates yet?
I wonder if your sister has the same thing as you- don't you have a benign cyst in your kidney?

I have an induction cooktop and the response to temperature changes, either up or down, is at least as fast as a gas range. I hate open flame so I would never even consider gas. Had one for about 6 months when I was 19 and it scared me every time I had to use it.
I used to like gas- but know I use induction as well as it meets all the criteria of gas without the open flame. When we moved here the stove had the worst hot plates so we got two single induction plates which we keep not he stove top and use. Just occasionally like at Christmas want more hot plates so use the others and I still kept one of the induction plates on the bench to use.

I’d better bring a swimsuit with me just for Auckland, lol! I’m bringing one anyway, as I’m hoping to have a swim at the Tahunanui beach where we swan daily in the summer.
The dress looks really lovely on you. I haven’t sewn in years, fabric is very expensive here and really can’t be bothered anymore. 🙄🙄
I hope you have lovely weather while you are there.

Well here today we had wild wind, rain 6mm and temperature dropped to 12c at 3pm... Its been a really cold day... in the middle of Summer.. for goodness sake. Whats going on these days...

I don’t like Granny either, I’m Gran, although for a long time with Luke I was Dan! 🤣
Grandma here- and Grandma Margaret when need to distinguish between the grand mothers. I tried some other options but didn’t like them so we decided on two Grandmas

You aren't likely to hear that I was up a ladder- I hate them.
Me either, I am scared of heights. I would stand on a table though. I will go up 2 steps on a ladder but thats it.. and the steps on my ladder are those deep ones that you can get your whole foot on. Still too scared. lol

The one for Kaylee was all close family and was last June. Yes, they asked for the books and had a raffle for anyone who brought diapers. Names were drawn for a prize. I think books are such a wonderful idea especially since our world is so digital and maybe the new generation will still appreciate books.
My Gkds still like books.. well when they are they do at least. Serena reads the Dr Seuss books when she is here and I also have a couple in the car for her to read. They are great for her age to read along. Penelope still likes me to read her stories... usually fairy ones..lol
