I am looking for a gown pattern that once you complete knitting the skirt several stitches are dropped to make an open weave affect. As I recall it's an easy pattern not to complicated - just looks it when the stitches are dropped. I think the bodice also shows ribbon woven through it. I made two way back then but can't find my pattern now.

Once the skirt was knit and the stitches dropped it about doubled the skirt length (as I recall). The pattern may even have come from Herrshners.
