I have been searching for a pattern for an ankle length sweater/duster. I have found one on Caron's website (referred to as a duster), it is crocheted but the stitch type is VERY open/large. I have even been scouring E Bay in the vintage pattern sections and have not found anything to no avail.

Is there anyone here that would be able to send me a link or information where I may find one? Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated!

TY in advance!!!

(((((((( I just popped a main url search and left out knit or crochet. If you want crochet, add that to it. Here's the main draw; Looks like there are a few patterns there but I'm not sure you want crochet:

Well, if you work a sweater from the top-down, you can make it any length you please. I made what began as a cardigan, but ended up as a coat. I had way more yarn than I thought I had, so I just added a few stitches to allow for my hips and kept on knitting.

There's a gorgeous pattern in the Feb 2011 issue of Knit'nStyle called Brigitte's Coat of Many Colors. As shown it uses 20 different yarns from the Great Adirondack Yarn Co., which would probably be pretty pricey but can be purchased as a kit, but you could substitute other yarns. If you're interested, PM me & I'll mail it to you.

Yes... that is how I usually knit sweaters... from the top down... just keep going until the desired length.
Now I want to make one!!!
Barbara Walker's "Knitting from the Top" is a great book.
Keep us posted on which pattern you decide...

My first thought was to knit a cardigan from the top down and keep going until you reach the length you need.
Thats why I knit socks from the toe up, so I can make the top as long as I like. With long legs, sometimes it's difficult to find socks that will keep you warm. And if you run out of yarn, who cares?
Good luck, Judith
