I love this site and the ideas you all share. My right index finger has swollen with arthritis and I am recently training myself to knit continental style. It is hard to acquire a new habit!

Recently went to Tokyo on Japan Air and knitted all the way and back- plastic needles.

Hello Ricia, I know how you feel, but I have just recently undergone surgery to fuse my finger, and be pain free (just 16 days ago), so I have to be a little more patient for another 4 to 6 weeks, for the benefits - but withdrawal symptoms seem to be getting to me in regards about not being able to knit at the moment.
