Hi Jannetta, thank you. She is only about 8 inches tall and the pattern is really easy, the body and head are all done in one, it was enjoyable to do.

That is a perfect size. I am just learning to crochet after 50 years of knitting. I don't think I am ready for a hippo yet, but maybe in a month or two!
I hope you will post more pictures when you have made her companion.
