After a good conversation my son Anthony and I decided to look for another house.......or apartment.........ground floor and adapted for my wheelchair.
Now we have fantastic house with a nice big garden, but it is too large and requires a lot of maintenance.
Because of my diseases I can't do much more (unfortunately) and Anthony must do so much, because I have no other help.
But he has so many other things to do.....like his studie....work.....sport.
He also has the right to relax and do things he likes to do.

It shall be taken a while before we have found an appropriate home, but I have a medical indication so then it goes faster.

Get Anthony to do a letter box drop and ask if any of the neighbours would like to use your land to grow vegetables or flowers...if some people don't have much land, they will probably jump at the chance and they could share the harvest with you.

Hope your search does not take very long and you are able to settle in quickly!
I hope so too.

It is not so bad to go to another house/apartment.
You know........... I always loved to gardening. Now I can do it anymore , and if I am in the garden then I get sad because I can''t do it myself anymore.
Do you know what I mean?

We are facing a similar problem. DH is in a wheelchair and I have medical problems. Even though our DD lives with us (separated from husband), she has a busy life. Do you have a senior program such as Agency on Aging as we do here? They have lists of volunteers who may be able to help in some of the outside chores. I don't want to go into an apartment as we lived too long in them while DH was working. I hope you find something to suit you both.

Good luck. I hope you find something that EXACTLY fits what you want and need. With lots of room for yarn.

When we had our coffee in the garden yesterday,we talked about to find volunteers who can help us.
It is very difficult for us to move to the city and to live in an apartment.
I'm in the countryside grew up with the horses and cows. And my son Anthony also do not know better.
So it is very difficult for us.
This house has also been adapted for my diseases. I also have a stair lift and there are no thresholds in house.
Anthony is obviously not always at home. So then it sometimes could be a problem for me to for example in the stair lift.
But Anthony had the proposal to have also bed below for me.
And we also wonder if it is worth to move. If the course of my diseases goes through on this way, , then I have according to the doctors, still 1 year to live. (But I can't and will not believe them !!!!!!!)
So is it worth it to have big move to do?

These are a few pictures of parts of my garden.
I think we will miss this if we were going to move.

Maybe you have answered your own question, familiar surroundings that you LOVE can oly help you to fight the illness, also if you are anything like me the memories in the house and garden sustain you on a "down day". by the way have you seen the new Australian show just airing now on Dutch TV about life in the 1950"s? I f you have Anna is played by my granddaughter.
