My trial and many errors first attempt.

I wanted to see what that naughty thick seam was going to look like for me. And if I should cast on 16 instead of 14 and enlarge the whole thing.
Using 2 strands 8 ply(Aust) cotton held together as I can't get worsted here easily.5 mm needles.
Seam not TOO bad, but I will try the provisional cast on and then graft together. I thought that was too much fiddling around at the beginning, BUT it eliminates a heap of annoyance at the end trying to get an invisible seam.

I am very fussy and although it is neat, I would prefer it wasn't there at all. :lol:

there have been a number of threads about this dishcloth. Lots of tips and ideas. Do a search at the top of the page for "almost lost dishcloth". I love this pattern.

Did you make this dishcloth today? I have been working on one for the last week. I started out with the crochet cast on I don't know if that is the same as a provisional cast on. When I'm done I will do the Kitchener stitch to sew it together.

Your cloth looks lovely. No seam is visible at all. It looks so much nice than the one I made. To avoid the seam issue I now knit my round cloths in the round. This is my favorite pattern.

Well I did make this one this morning. And now I have just learned a provisional cast on using crochet chain. A bit awkward, but I'm sure I'll get better. So second one almost finished, and THEN I have to learn grafting(Kitchener stitch) I watched my nanna do this with socks, but lordy, that was 60 years ago!
