I finally took a deep breath and plunged in to the wonderful world of charted lace knitting. I made my first Ashton over 4 evenings this last week, and am proudly wearing it today!

After looking at the photos, I found that I mis-pinned the bottom point for blocking and will fix that, but also came to the realization that working on one's hands and knees late in the evening (or in my case, very early morning) in low light leads to more second-guessing. I will also be working on my tension - I would like the fabric to be a little tighter, so another one is already on the needles.

Thank you Dee for the wonderful designs, easy to follow directions, tutorials and to you, my KP friends for the inspiration!

Hi All! Thanks for the compliments! Sure brightened this oh, so busy Monday for me...

I used Cascade Heritage Paints yarn (fingering/4ply weight, 437yds per skein) and size 5 needles. Final dims - blocked it came to 27" deep and 65" wide. It has relaxed a bit but not too much.
I'm wearing it draped around my neck with the point hanging in front. Quite nice since there's a bit of chill in the air today (especially in the office as the A/C is running full blast)
Cathy - I couldn't easily put it down once I got rolling...made for a couple of too-early mornings, but I did so love working on this pattern!
