Thank you! I just knitted them top down one at a time. I bought a book the other day on how to make them toe up on circular needles two at a time. I want to try that next. It's suppose to make it more simple but it looks complicated to me. How quickly we get into ruts!

Hello sock lady!!!
They are to die for. Great job.
I am making my first pair, but toe up. Heres why.I have heavy legs and it is so hard to get them so they aren't too tight. Starting at the toe, and working up I guess when I get to the leg part I will be able to try the sock on as I go and add needed stitches. So far I'm at the toe STILL.
But this is my bucket list knitting project!!!

Your socks look especially lovely even if they are too big...give them as a gift to someone who would appreciate them....I am a novice knitter and I knit socks all the time....adult socks, baby socks and children's socks...with my self patterning yarn I get one pair of adult socks and one pair of size 2 socks out of one ball....it is very rewarding, relaxing and therapeutic... would like to try toe up socks next...when I am braver...:0)

Good for you. I just quote them a price and that is the last I hear from them about knitting them socks. They do not value a good pare of hand knit socks. It is Walmart for them.

Socks are so much fun and they move so fast. This summer I set a goal of knitting enough socks to take me through the winter..I filled a basket with hand knit socks. They are so much nicer than store bought.

One of my coworkers asked me how much it cost to knit a pair of socks...since I tend to use yarns that cost a bit I told her that it averages from $12.00 - $20.00 a pair..she thought that was outrageous, until I pointed out that the knitting of the socks was "entertainment" that ended with a usable product ...price of a movie, large popcorn and a soda..but I have socks when I'm done!!!
