Had so much fun today! Went to the county fairgrounds where they were having a dog competition and the trials for the Eukenuba Dog Diving. So much fun to watch. Got several good shots. Played with a lot of dogs.

Not diving boards. There is a long fake grassy run that they take a running jump from and see how far they can go. There is also an event where there is a hanging toy that they jump to grab it. This is on a bar that can be moved to greater distances.

Where is this? I have always wanted to see this event.
This particular event is being held today at the Canfield Fairgrounds in Canfield, Ohio. If you go to the website it will list all the upcoming trials.

It was fun to watch. One of the judges also had a pool where he taught "beginners", showing how to train the dog to fetch the bait while not becoming afraid to jump in the water. He explained things very well and was very encouraging to the dogs and their owners. There were a few balkers who did not want to go into the water, so he had them fetch on the platform, then just threw the bait a foot down on to the exit ramp so they could just get their feet wet. The second time, he threw it a bit further down the ramp. After a few times of this, they usually had no problems jumping into the pool. Then they got their owners extremely wet when they shook all the water off on their exit!!

For anyone living in the Pgh, Pa region, there is going to be a trial coming up at the end of Oct at the David L Lawrence Convention Center
