hi i'm a beginning knitter, i can knit and purl. i have made several scarves. i would like to tackle knitting a quilt using squares. does anyone have an easy pattern that can use. thanks Peter.

Hi, here is a link to a knit log cabin blanket. I have made several of these. it is all knit stitch, and done 1 square at a time.
You start with just 10 stitches in the center and work 20 rows, thats the little center, then on from there. its real easy. I used a crochet hook every time to pickup stitches down the side and place them on the knitting needle to knit the next strip. Hope this helps. Lacey

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that sometimes uses a crochet hook to pick up stitches in knitting! :thumbup: (I always felt like I was "cheating" but let's face it... sometimes it's just a whole lot easier!)
