New blind knitter looking for easy leg warmers

Hello My name is Mei Ling Wong and i live in WA state. I am a mostly blind knitter. I can see just s bit if I hold my knitting an inch or so from my face in very dimm lighting so bsically I mostly knit by feel. I have made one scarf and one hat. I am only using circular needles. Are there any other blind or vision impaired knitters in this group? I am trying to decide what would be a good next project for a new knitter to take on. I am interested in making some leg warmers. Does anyone have any leg warmer patterns for beginngers? Any other ideas or recommendations for a new kniiter? This looks like a great group of people. I am happy to have joined.

(((((((( Sure........leg warmers can be surfed for using:

easy knit leg warmer pattern

.........You decide the size, as you didn't say what it is or I would have surfed for you, and there are some darling ones for young girls, too.

I have a great pattern for a knit, hanging, buttoned hand towel + the matching cloth done in two skeins of ww cotton. This pattern is ye 'ole granny's cloth pattern where the cloth part is made wider then into a hand (hanging) towel by picking up the stitches on the sides, etc.....choosing the botton is my fav part of this project! LOL!! It's made on the diagonal.

If you want that pattern, send me a private message though this forum, include your e-mail addres, too and I'll get it to you + it has a pic.

I'll trick up the e-mail with some music to you, also. Tell me what your fav song it and I might have it in my extensive Incredimail styles box folders. @@

TTYL!

Hello, Mei Ling Wong,

I just saw this post and wondered how you are getting along with your knitting? It seems to me crocheting is much easier when vision is impared, but then my mother taught me as a child how to crochet.

Would love to hear how you're doing.

Blessings,

Isn't that just amazing. You heard me all the way out there in Aussie land.

One of the places I have always longed to visit :).
I am certainly glad to hear from you and who knows maybe one day at some knitters cafe................

Stranger things have happened! :)

Hope you're having a wonderful time.

God bless you and yours!

Loom knitting on blue knifty knitter may get you some great leg warmers.....
I Am Doing some now on my looms with ribbing on each end for stretchy and stockinette for the body. One may have to do the next sized loom out there if person has edema or larger legs.....
Are you knitting back and forth with the circular needle or in the round, that means you knit round and round without turning the needle and get no seam?
I have a pattern for leg warmers and will send them to you in large print if you want me to. I got the pattern free from the Bernat yarn knitting site on the internet. If you can look up Bernat online, you will find the pattern.
I had a friend who was blind and knitted sweaters and afghans, I helped her with shaping and sewing things together. She made the afghan strips and memorized the designs, wrote the numbers 6 inches tall and still used a magnifying lens she had implanted in her glasses. She had RPT and could see a little from the side. You can reach me through PM, Private messages, if you like.
