I am back into knitting and crochet after a long lapse. I don't know when I started but I remember giving scarves for Christmas when I was about 10. I love it and used to carry it with me everywhere. I also remember using huge needles and crochet hooks in college to make afghans and even a vest that fit my ample body [ :) ]. Thanks to carpal tunnel surgery I can do it again if only for short periods of time. I started pulling the needles and yarn out after reading Debbie Macomber's yarn shop books. The socks are on hold while I help create blue and white scarves for all the 2012 Super Bowl volunteers. I have had lots of fun looking for patterns and stitches. One of the best things about knitting is that it keeps me out of the junk food

OOps, i meant to say. Welcome I'm from NW IN - munster. I too love Debbie Macomber books. Do you know the knitting books Leisure Arts put out to go with her yarn books? They are nice - generally easy patterns, and all her yarn related items profit she donates to charity! Also check out the topics on thi board somewhere we started a thread on losing weight through keeping your hands busy! Hope you enjoy us...I love "chatting with you all
