Hi there I am in Nottinghamshire UK - just returned to my knitting machine after approx 25 years been practicing again for about a month and I think I am back into the swing again. Got a new sponge bar for my knitmaster machine, gave the machine needles a good service with surgical spirit and a spot of oil and did the same with my ribber everything is working lovely. looking forward to reading articles on the forum regularly

Hi from Derbyshire. Glad to hear that you have your machine out of it's hiding place. You obviously know quite a lot about machine knitting. Most people get a machine and think that they can get straight on it and knit a wonderful piece of knitwear without cleaning it and replacing the sponge bar. It's also nice to read that you have used surgical spirit, the best cleaner to use. I'm looking forward to seeing some photos of what you knit. Welcome to the forum.

I went to an evening class back in the early 80`s and still have all my notes from then otherwise I would have forgotten a lot. I will try and post some photos in a short while.
Hoping to get along to one of the local meeting groups either Codnor or Hunlock when I can find out more details about them.

Hi and welcome from Australia. I prefer knitting by hand as it helps relax me. Had a Singer knitting machine about 25 years ago to make jumpers and cardigans for my children when they were small. I just didn't like the noise the machine made. Enjoy knitting, whatever method you use.
